Everyone should exercise this right boldly and vote in the upcoming elections without succumbing to any temptation. Collector Vinay Gowda expressed the opinion that voter awareness is very important for a healthy democracy .
He was speaking at a program organized on the occasion of National Voter’s Day at Planning Hall . Additional Collector Shrikant Deshpande, Assistant Collector Muruganantham M., Additional Superintendent of Police Rina Janbandhu, Tehsildar Vijay Pawar, In-charge Deputy Collector (Election) Atul Jatale, Paralympic gold medalist and Brand Ambassador of Election Department Naeemuddin Sheikh were present.
Collector Shri. Gowda said, based on the eligibility date of January 1, 2024, as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, a brief poll revision program was implemented in the district from October to January. As with the eligibility date of January 1, names can be registered in the voter list till April 1, July 1 and October 1 throughout the year.
Voting is of utmost importance in the democratic process. For that, your name must be in the voter list and voters should check the list to see if your name is correct. It is everyone’s responsibility to conduct elections in a free and fair environment. Citizens should vote using their common sense without succumbing to any temptation. Country will be strong only if we exercise our rights very transparently. In Chandrapur city, the voting percentage was low in the last election. Therefore, Collector Vinay Gowda appealed to the voters to vote as much as possible in the coming elections.
