Diwali is a special festival in which we celebrate various festivals throughout the year. Diwali festival is called the king of festivals because Diwali is the only festival that lasts for five days. This festival is loved by everyone from children to adults. The excitement of this festival is something else. There is no other festival as joyous as this festival. Diwali is the festival of lights, the festival of light. During the five days of Diwali, there are all kinds of gifts, candles, sky lanterns, new purchases, new clothes, sweets, rangoli, Diwali numbers, religious things, friends and relatives visits, family gatherings and crackers. The most important of these are fireworks. Crackers and Diwali have become an equation. Today’s situation is that Diwali cannot be celebrated without firecrackers. Everyone from small to big bursts crackers. Actually Diwali is a festival of lights, not firecrackers, yet fireworks are given undue importance in Diwali. Do not burst firecrackers every year on Diwali, the ill effects of firecrackers affect not only human beings but also the entire living creatures, so do not burst firecrackers on Diwali. The government as well as many social and philanthropic organizations have been challenged to set off green firecrackers, but they are conveniently ignored. Of course some people respond to their challenge but their proportion is very low. Supporters of crackers always say that why is it challenged not to burst crackers on Diwali itself? The reason for this is that during Diwali there is a large number of crackers. At no other time are so many crackers lit during Diwali. More crackers also have more side effects. A large number of firecrackers are burst during Diwali which increases the pollution. Already the air of our country is polluted. MUMBAI – If the air of cities like Delhi has reached a dangerous level, if the pollution from firecrackers is added, it will make it difficult for people to breathe, then it will affect the health of not only human beings but also the entire living creatures. Firecrackers are made from chemicals such as copper, cadmium, lead, sulphur, phosphorus, sulphur, magnesium, sodium, zinc, nitrate etc. These chemicals are hazardous to human health. Copper in crackers causes inflammation in the respiratory tract. This increases the incidence of asthmatic diseases. There are chances of heart disease and lung disease. Lead affects the nervous system. Candium damages the kidneys. Sulfur is harmful to plants. Sulfur stunts plant growth. Sulfur has an adverse effect on the fruit of trees. Eating these fruits poses a risk of poisoning to the eater. Children, elderly citizens, pregnant women and patients suffer a lot due to noise pollution caused by firecrackers. Hearing deafening sounds for four to five days continuously can lead to permanent deafness. Moreover, if proper care is not taken while bursting firecrackers, there is a possibility of an accident and permanent disability. It is also not to be forgotten that there have been many incidents of firecracker shops or factories catching fire during Diwali and causing loss of life and money. If you consider all these aspects, you will realize how dangerous firecrackers are. It’s time to celebrate a firecracker-free Diwali. If we celebrate Diwali by keeping away harmful firecrackers that affect human and living creatures, we can curb the increasing pollution and also maintain good health. So let’s resolve to have a firecracker-free Diwali! Let’s do away with crackers and celebrate this joyous festival!!
