To resolve the financial crisis of Dr. Baba Amte’s institute at Anandvan Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar immediately distributed funds worth Rs 3 crore 8 lakhs

Chandrapur(Date 14jan):- Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar has directed to immediately distribute a total of Rs 3.8 crores to Anandvan Maharogi Seva Samiti Sanstha in Warora, Chandrapur district, for the treatment and rehabilitation of leprosy patients, Rs 1 crore 86 lakhs, and Rs 1 crore 22 lakhs for Anand Blind , Deaf-Mute and Sandhi Niketan Divyang Workshop. The process of distributing the funds has been completed immediately after the instructions of the Deputy Chief Minister. This action taken by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, taking immediate notice, will help in overcoming the financial difficulties faced by the Maharogi Seva Samiti, which was established 75 years ago by the great social workers late Baba Amte and Sadhanatai Amte.

Late Baba Amte and Sadhanatai Amte established the Maharogi Seva Samiti 75 years ago in 1949 at Anandvan in Warora taluka of Chandrapur district to serve leprosy patients. This year is the Amrit Mahotsav year of the organization and the organization is in financial difficulty. The organization’s secretary, Dr. Vikas Amte, brought the matter to the notice of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Taking immediate cognizance of Dr. Vikas Amte’s demand, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar directed the administration to immediately distribute a fund of Rs 3 crore 8 lakh to the organization. Accordingly, immediate action has been taken and this fund has been immediately distributed to the organization.

Founded by the great social worker late Baba Amte and Sadhanatai, this organization has been serving leprosy patients for the past 75 years through treatment and rehabilitation out of a sense of social commitment. The organization takes care of 1.5 thousand leprosy-free disabled-destitute , elderly , orphans , abandoned , mentally challenged brothers and their children who have been rehabilitated in projects in rural areas. Education and training are provided to three hundred disabled students-trainees residing in special schools and vocational training centers. The organization is also providing education to three and a half thousand non-resident science , art , and commerce students for the economically weaker sections. Taking note of this social commitment and service work of the organization, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has immediately distributed a fund of Rs. 3 crore 8 lakh due from the state government to the organization.
