गडचिरोली (11 ऑगस्ट)– लॉयड्स मेटल अँड एनर्जी लिमिटेडच्‍या सुरजागड लोह खनिज खाणीला केंद्र सरकारच्‍या खाण मंत्रालयाकडून सलग दुसऱ्या वर्षी प्रतिष्ठित 5-स्टार मानांकन प्राप्‍त झाले आहे. नुकत्याच झालेल्या एका समारंभात केंद्रीय खाण मंत्री जी. किशन रेड्डी आणि राज्यमंत्री सतीश चंद्र दुबे यांच्या हस्ते त्यांना हा सन्‍मान प्रदान करण्यात आला.
लॉयड्स मेटलचे कॉर्पोरेट अफेअर्स अध्‍यक्ष राम कुमार राय, रेग्‍युलेशन्‍स अॅड इएचक्‍यूचे उपाध्‍यक्ष जी. कुमार स्‍वामी, माइन्‍सचे उपाध्‍यक्ष सुभाशिष बोस, डीजीएम रविचंद्रन नान्‍नुरी, प्रोजेक्‍ट प्‍लॅनिंग अँड कंट्रोलचे व्‍यवस्‍थापक राहूल भद्रा यांनी हा पुरस्‍कार स्‍वीकारला.
गडचिरोली जिल्ह्यातील सर्वात मोठ्या आणि वेगाने विस्तारणाऱ्या खाणींपैकी एक असलेल्या सूरजागढ लोहखनिज खाण ही या प्रदेशाच्या सामाजिक-आर्थिक परिवर्तनात महत्त्वाची भूमिका बजावत आहे. ही खाण डाव्‍या विचारसरणीच्‍या नक्षल प्रभावित क्षेत्रात असलेली असून महत्‍वाकांक्षी जिल्हा कार्यक्रमांतर्गत वर्गीकृत करण्यात आली आहे. ही खाण रोजगाराच्या संधी उपलब्ध करून देण्यासाठी आणि विविध सामाजिक उपक्रमांद्वारे स्थानिक आदिवासी समुदायांच्‍या उत्थानासाठी महत्त्वपूर्ण ठरली आहे.
लॉयड्स मेटल अँड एनर्जी लिमिटेडने स्थानिक आदिवासी समुदायाच्‍या उन्‍नतीसाठी महत्त्वपूर्ण पावले उचलली असून त्‍यात ना-नफा तत्‍वावर शाळा, मल्‍टी स्‍पेशालिटी हॉस्पिटल आणि महिलांसाठी गारमेंट स्टिचिंग युनिट यांचा समावेश आहे. या उपक्रमांमुळे स्थानिक जनतेला केवळ अत्यावश्यक सेवाच उपलब्ध झाल्या नाहीत तर महाराष्ट्र सरकार तसेच पंतप्रधान आणि भारताचे राष्ट्रपती यांनीही त्यांना मान्यता दिली आहे.

Gadchiroli : (12th August 2024) – Lloyd Metal & Energy Limited is proud to announce that our Surjagarh Iron Ore Mine has been awarded the prestigious 5-Star rating by the Ministry of Mines for the second consecutive year. The accolade was presented by Hon’ble Minister of Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, and Minister of State, Shri Sathish Chandra Dubey, at a ceremony held recently.

The Surjagarh Iron Ore Mine, one of the largest and rapidly expanding mines in Gadchiroli district, plays a pivotal role in the socio-economic transformation of the region, which is classified under the Aspirational Districts Programme and is one of the most severely Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas. The mine has been instrumental in providing employment opportunities and uplifting the local tribal communities through various social initiatives.
Lloyds Metals & Energy Ltd has taken significant steps to support the community, including the establishment of a non-profit school, a multi-specialty hospital, and a garment stitching unit for women. These initiatives have not only provided essential services to the local population but have also been recognized by the Government of Maharashtra, as well as by the Prime Minister and the President of Bharat.
In addition to its social contributions, the Surjagarh Iron Ore Mine has set new standards in mineral conservation and green mining practices. The introduction of electric and EV-battery operated machinery is part of the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and emissions.
