It was because of Rajiv Gandhi that computers reached common homes. Due to a decision taken by Rajiv Gandhi, 8% i.e. thirteen lakh crore information technology industry stood up. Fifty lakh people are getting direct employment from this. Rajiv Gandhi laid the foundation of three revolutions namely information-based civilization, knowledge-based civilization and intelligence-based civilization. India is tasting its fruits today. Rajiv Gandhi’s vision led to rapid development of India and raised the standard of living of the people. Rajiv Gandhi, a serious but modern thinker by nature, ushered in the information technology era in the country, that is why he is called the father of Indian information revolution.
