Delhi, the capital of the country, has now become the capital of pollution as well. Pollution in Delhi has crossed the danger level. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in the capital Delhi has dropped from 415 to 460, making Delhi the most polluted city in the world. Of course, this is not a trivial matter, but because of this, the country’s neck has bowed down. Of course, there is nothing to be surprised about. Many social and charitable organizations had warned the government to take concrete measures to control pollution in Delhi, but Sir Kar ignored it. In the month of March, the Swiss organization IQAR released a report on global pollution. This report was shocking for India as it mentioned that India is the eighth most polluted country in the world and Delhi is the fourth most polluted city in the world. In just seven months, his warning came true. For the preparation of this report prepared by a Swiss organization, the amount of PM-2.5 particles, known as a pollutant in the atmosphere, was closely examined. Information of 7300 cities was collected through 30 thousand ground monitors installed in 131 countries of the world. After looking at the findings of this report, you will realize how serious the problem of pollution in India is. Interestingly, the list of most polluted cities in the world includes large and important cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai in India. In this city, the amount of PM-2.5 particles, known as air pollutants, has reached the level of 53.3 micrograms cubic meter, which is ten times more than the safety level prescribed by the health organization. Today all the important cities of the country are suffocating with pollution. The lives of the citizens living in that city are in danger due to pollution. On the one hand, a beautiful picture of a happy life in the 21st century is being created. The dream of smart city is being shown while on the other hand the lungs of these same cities are failing due to pollution. The health of the citizens of this city is in danger due to pollution. Due to pollution, the citizens of this city are suffering from lung, heart and blood circulation diseases on a large scale. Major diseases like pneumonia, stroke, heart disease, lung cancer are caused due to polluted air. We are seeing how bad the condition of the national capital like Delhi has become due to pollution. Due to pollution, the time has come for the administration to give holidays to schools and colleges in Delhi. Three years ago, in the Test match between England and India in Delhi, the players entered the field wearing masks. Later this match also had to be canceled due to pollution, thus making India a world champion. What is in Delhi is what is in Mumbai. Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, is starting to match the national capital in terms of pollution. Mumbai’s pollution has also reached its highest level. Pollution has made it difficult for people to get clean air. People are paying for clean air. Oxygen bars have been introduced in cities with a large population like Mumbai-Delhi. Citizens are buying oxygen by paying Rs 200 to 500 per hour. Even so, we do not learn from it. The number of vehicles in this big city is increasing in a big way. In big cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, the number of vehicles is more than the population. Pollution is increasing due to increasing number of vehicles. The amount of pollution in the smoke coming out of the vehicle is very high. The graph of pollution is rising due to many reasons like dust, fumes from factories, particles spread from construction, felling of trees, increasing temperature of the earth, incineration of plastic. The report released by the Swiss organization is an alarm bell. Timely concrete measures should be taken to reduce the increasing pollution. Advanced technology should be used to reduce the polluting factors from the smoke coming out of the factory. Stone quarries should be controlled. The number of vehicles should also be reduced. Hard decisions like odd or even should be taken on occasion. We should study what measures are taken to reduce pollution in European countries. Citizens should make more use of public transport system. Apart from this, proper classification and disposal of waste and use of solar energy should be emphasized. Those trees should be kept alive by planting trees. Only through the joint efforts of the government, administration and citizens can this blaze of pollution be stopped.
