Chandrapur (Representative) Dated – 20/09/2023 Increasing use of plastic is hazardous to the environment and there is a need to ban plastic use in every village. Proper management of used plastic is the need of the hour. This opinion was expressed by Zilla Parishad Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Water and Sanitation Nutan Sawant.
Swachhta Ha Seva Campaign is being implemented in the country from 15th September to 2nd October 2023 with great enthusiasm and various activities are being implemented daily to maintain sustainable cleanliness. Emphasis has also been laid on plastic management, and a large amount of public awareness is being created in this regard. For this, family visit activities are being implemented in the district as part of the cleanliness service campaign, visiting the families in the village, waste classification, plastic collection and its management are being emphasized. How household level waste can be classified into household level wet waste dry waste. For this, two waste bins should be used at family level. If the waste is classified at the household level, it becomes easier to manage the classified waste in the village. Garbage will not be visible in the open. By taking such a simple solution plan, by visiting the families in the village, public awareness is being created. Asha worker, Anganwadi worker, CRP worker, Gram sevak are playing an important role in this activity. Apart from this, district, taluka level officials and employees are participating in this activity. Villagers should participate in every activity of the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign which is going on from 15th September to 2nd October 2023 at the village level. Household-level waste segregation is a step towards sustainable sanitation, which will help in village-level waste management. Along with this, the villagers should be aware of the minimum use of plastic and how to ban the use of plastic. Cleanliness should be a priority in every service activity.
